In the heart of the home, where culinary dreams unfurl, an all-white kitchen unfolds like a sonnet of pure sophistication. All whites are crisp, luminous, and delicate, reflecting the light beautifully. The countertop, a canvas of possibility, is adorned with Calacatta marble—a versatile and timeless material boasting a diverse range of tones, textures, and grains. Marble has the power to infuse either a contemporary or classic allure into any home. When tasked with designing this home, the clients aimed for a timeless, modern aesthetic with a subtle Californian twist. I crafted the kitchen and hallway to seamlessly integrate into their existing home. The choice of Carrara marble, with its heavily veined grey grains, creates a luminous crescendo. The 10cm thick marble extends down to the floor from both sides, adding a touch of grandeur. To counterbalance the coolness of the whites, I incorporated natural materials such as suede and bleached oak. The choice fell upon a brushed nickel faucet, a subtle artisan in the symphony of design, weaving threads of warmth into the tapestry of the space. Open shelves on each side of the cooktops introduce a playful touch to the overall aesthetic. As the morning sun spills its golden light into this alabaster sanctuary, the kitchen transforms into an ethereal haven where culinary artistry meets refined grace.
