Hi, I'm Michelle Ariana Wong, a spatial designer and artist with over five years of experience. I am the creative force behind Casa Bella-Rose, founded in 2023 (formerly known as Studio Michelle from 2019 to 2022). At CBS, we are more than a design studio; we are also a lifestyle blog, curating narratives that blend interior design, travel, fashion, and art. My passionate and optimistic approach to design is rooted in the belief that we should not only be surrounded by beauty but also live beautifully. ​ Within the tapestry of my career, I've successfully completed a number of commercial and residential projects. As a designer and artist, my mission is to inspire. Irrespective of the aesthetic, each project is embraced with boundless zeal. I am a perpetual explorer, always on the lookout for what's new, what's next, and the unexpected delights waiting to unfold. Having traversed diverse destinations overseas and lived in three continents, my design perspective is an ever-evolving tapestry of global experiences. Collaborating with clients on these decorating journeys is where the true magic happens. ​ Through these creative endeavours, I've discovered that the most intriguing revelations often arise during moments when we're not immersed in discussions about homes or spaces. A Chic Showroom That Beckons You to Call It Home Imagine gazing upon this Haussman-style Parisian apartment and envisioning a stay in its exquisite quarters. Alas, here comes the twist—the bad news: it's not available for rent. This 170 square meter haven isn't your typical getaway; it's the new showroom for Birkenstock in Paris. While you can't book a night, you're invited to immerse yourself in its beautifully simple yet eccentric ambiance, a visual feast for anyone wandering through the City of Lights. And oh, let's not forget the chairs! A Simple Metamorphosis Embarking on my residential kitchen venture was a truly special journey, especially since the client happened to be none other than my own mother. In 2018, this was my very first project. This challenge became an artful dance with time and budget constraints, a mere $15,000 NZ dollars to orchestrate an entire kitchen masterpiece, inclusive of appliances. In the realm of tight purse strings, I delved into the realm of bargain hunting and exhaustive research to ensure quality remained uncompromised. Through this project, not only did I secure a stellar deal with the kitchen manufacturer, but I also forged lasting relationships with skilled tradesmen. The transformation was an abandoned kitchen, a relic from the 60s, adorned with meagre cupboards and an aging freestanding range. With a complete gutting of the space, a vision of elegance began to unfold. Opting for white matte-finished recessed panelled cupboard doors, paired with brushed brass hardware, I aimed for a timeless and classic aesthetic. This kitchen metamorphosis transcended mere renovation, becoming a testament to creativity flourishing within constraints. The enchanting alchemy of white and gold brought a touch of opulence to the space, illuminating it with a timeless charm. Sleek matte finishes on the cupboards exuded a modern yet classic vibe, creating a harmonious balance that resonated with the elegant taste my mother envisioned. Each element, meticulously chosen, came together to orchestrate a symphony of sophistication, making this kitchen not just a functional space but a work of art that breathes life into the heart of our home. As the sunlight filters through the exquisite gold-adorned hardware, the kitchen becomes a sanctuary where memories are not just made but beautifully crafted. 1 AUGUSST 2018 BY MICHELLE

Bespoke Washbasin Crafted with meticulous precision and born from the essence of Carrara marble, this bespoke washbasin stands as a unique work of art—an ode to the seamless fusion of nature's grace and human creativity. When the client envisioned a specific design that eluded the market's offerings, the power of 3D modelling software, Rhinoceros, brought that vision to life. The intricate design was then manufactured in China, using Italian-imported Carrara marble. Though the process presented its challenges, the final result was unequivocally worth the effort. The hand-wash basin, with ethereal veins narrating ancient stories, transforms into a tactile poem—each curve and contour a testament to skilled hands shaping both form and function. A silent conversation unfolds between the artist's vision and the timeless allure of Carrara marble, encapsulating a moment of pure artistry within the sanctuary of daily rituals. Carrara marble, celebrated for its modifiability and durability, becomes an ideal choice for custom-made creations. In a space susceptible to water exposure, a matte finished seal becomes a crucial element, preserving the marble's enduring beauty over time. The wall tiles, strategically divided into stony grey tiles at the bottom and small rectangular mosaic tiles above, create visual interest and refine the room. The grey tones seamlessly echo the marble's grains, contributing to a sophisticated ambiance. Despite my personal reservations about the colour grey, it unexpectedly harmonises with the client's desire for a cool-toned, exclusive feel that avoids clinical sterility. Introducing brushed bronze tapware, hardware, and a mirror frame counterbalances the cool tones of the tiles, infusing warmth and a touch of colour into the space. Each element meticulously curated, this project becomes not just a functional space but a symphony of design, where every detail harmonises to create an environment that is both aesthetically pleasing and functionally exquisite. 15 November 2021 BY MICHELLE

Project All Whites In the heart of the home, where culinary dreams unfurl, an all-white kitchen unfolds like a sonnet of pure sophistication. All whites are crisp, luminous, and delicate, reflecting the light beautifully. The countertop, a canvas of possibility, is adorned with Calacatta marble—a versatile and timeless material boasting a diverse range of tones, textures, and grains. Marble has the power to infuse either a contemporary or classic allure into any home. When tasked with designing this home, the clients aimed for a timeless, modern aesthetic with a subtle Californian twist. I crafted the kitchen and hallway to seamlessly integrate into their existing home. The choice of Carrara marble, with its heavily veined grey grains, creates a luminous crescendo. The 10cm thick marble extends down to the floor from both sides, adding a touch of grandeur. To counterbalance the coolness of the whites, I incorporated natural materials such as suede and bleached oak. The choice fell upon a brushed nickel faucet, a subtle artisan in the symphony of design, weaving threads of warmth into the tapestry of the space. Open shelves on each side of the cooktops introduce a playful touch to the overall aesthetic. As the morning sun spills its golden light into this alabaster sanctuary, the kitchen transforms into an ethereal haven where culinary artistry meets refined grace. 20 SEPTEMBER 2020 BY MICHELLE
